Introduction to the study
In Malta, holders of a COVID-19 vaccine certificate are able to attend events which are organised in a controlled and safe manner such as concerts, festivals, celebrations etc, in line with guidelines and protocols established and published by the Public Health Authorities. Currently over 90% of the Maltese population are fully vaccinated.
The Events Research project shall ultimately provide empirical data in order to objectively evaluate and assess the below criteria:
Determine the post-event RT-PCR test uptake;
Determine the rate of new cases from participants for the events;
Compare the rate of new cases of participants for the pilot events with that of the general population;
Estimate the proportion of applicants who use the Covid Alert Malta App (or its equivalent if foreign).
